COM Exception when opening BDEVault.sln

When opening the web UI solution in Visual Studio 2008, I am recieving a COM Exception and the BDERecoveryWeb project is unable to load. Is there some pre-requisite needed to load the Web projects?

Steps to try:
  • Make sure there is no pre-existing virtual directory for this project in IIS
  • Open Visual Studio 2008 under Administrator Account
  • browse to the solution file and open the solution file

Resolved issue:

The problem is that the BitLockerRecoveryWeb.csproj points to a locally installed IIS server. I do not have a locally installed IIS server. I rely on the ASP.NET server that is built into Visual Studio 2008. To remedy the problem, I opened the .csproj file in a text editor and modified the Project Extensions section to point at the built in APS.NET server, rather than a local IIS server.
